Peru – The People

We spent a bit of time with the people who continue the traditions of ancient Peru – the lifestyle and dress, for instance. However, these people make up far less than ten percent of the 33 million Peruvians. Most members of Peruvian society dress as westerners. All the people of Peru work hard–most work 12 hour days, six or seven days a week. As a developing country, the people function within a cash economy mainly.

Did you know that it’s a REQUIREMENT to vote in Peru? If one doesn’t vote, he/she owes a fine.
