After leaving Lima early in our tour, we flew to Iquitos. We had to take a plane there because there is no good road north from Lima to Iquitos. In Iquitos we boarded a boat, had a boxed lunch, and headed to Ceiba Tops Lodge in the rainforest. It was hot and humid, but still… a glorious and very relaxing experience!

In addition to a night hike through the rainforest, we also visited a Yagua people. On a trip to catch Piranha, we had some fishing luck (I caught a catfish!) and we saw the ‘elusive’ pink dolphin. At dinner, I tasted fried Piranha… bony and mild.
